Oyo govt opens application portal for primary school teachers
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, which affected three ministries in the state. Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Suleimon Olanrewaju, in a statement, yesterday, confirmed the swapping of the portfolios of commissioners.
The reshuffle saw the former Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Ademola Ojo, moved to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
Ojo is a former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter. Segun Olayiwola, who until the reshuffle was manning the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, has been moved to the Ministry of Establishment and Training.
The erstwhile Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Adeniyi Adebisi, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives.
The reshuffling is with immediate effect. IN another development, the state government has opened a portal for job applications for primary school teachers across the state.
Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB), Dr Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, who disclosed this, yesterday, during a media briefing, urged interested applicants to apply via subeb.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng.
He said the portal would start accepting job applications from 6:00 p.m. today, June 25, 2024, and remain open for the next three weeks.
Adeniran said application would close on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
According to him, after the portal has closed, applicants will be shortlisted for a computer-based test, followed by an oral interview for those who passed the test.
The OYOSUBEB chairman, who said that any issue or complaint should be directed to the board via the phone numbers and email addresses listed on the job portal, urged the public to cooperate with the state government and the board. He emphasised that the application is free, and applicants should not pay anyone to apply or get shortlisted.
