Cholera: Club collaborates with U.S. counterpart to fight outbreak in Lagos

President, Rotary Club of Onigbongbo, Razaq Babatunde Salau, has thrown his weight behind combatting the insurgence of cholera in Lagos State through the execution of three relevant projects.
 
His club carried out three major projects at three different locations to nip in the bud various health hazards. 
 
Salau disclosed that Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area made a clarion call to the club for assistance on the ground that out of the 10 cases of cholera in the entire Ikeja, six cases emanated from the council, which made the club to provide the council with hand sanitizers, hand wash, face masks, among other items worth about N350,000.00.

“We rehabilitated and increased to 10 toilets the former six toilets at Estate Primary School, Ogba with modern equipment as well as facilities for the physically challenged, which was accomplished in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Pleasanton in the United States of America at the cost of $8,000.00.”
 
“To end period poverty and ensure proper hygiene, we took 200 sanitary packs to female students as well as female teachers of Victory Group of Schools where we intend to establish Interact club to equip the students with the ideals of Rotary,” he disclosed.
 
The Chairman, Onigbongbo LCDA, Oladotun Olakanle, appreciated the club’s gesture. Also, School Board Management Chairman, Estate Primary School, Ogba, Olatunde Agbobaku, lauded the efforts of the club while the Principal, Victory Grammar School, Baimo Sunday, extolled the virtues of Rotary.
