Diplomat advocates cultural integration to strengthen bilateral ties

The Indian Consul-General to Nigeria, Chandramouli Kern, has reiterated the strategic importance of cultural integration to help boost both countries’ bilateral relations.

Kern, who spoke during the 10th International Yoga Day tagged “Yoga for Self and Society,” urged participants to pursue socio-cultural integration at all levels.

The Consul-General also emphasised the value of cross-cultural communication, saying that humanity will benefit from exchanging ideas and communicating openly using shared interests and values.

He said that Yoga had evolved over the years to be a veritable platform to foster individual wellbeing and societal harmony, global reorientation and its increasing adoption worldwide.

Also speaking at the event, a renowned Yoga Coach, Preeti Salgar, urged participants to always honour and listen to their body, as well as respect the limits of what activities the body can carry at every stage of their lives.

“Focus on the process, not the pose. It’s about the journey, not the destination. You will benefit if you use Yoga as a principle and tool for life. Embrace imperfection because Yoga is a journey and not a destination,” Salgar said.
