Following concerns over dilapidating state of housing estates across the states, estate surveyors and valuers have pledged to introduce maintenance guidelines to sustain the estates. Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and its Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai through the Permanent Secretary, Abdulhafiz Toriola had pleaded with the institution recently to develop a template that will ensure proper and effective maintenance of the structures, as well as facilities in various estates in Lagos and across the country. NIESV President, Victor Alonge, who spoke at the second statutory meeting of the council, said the initiative would influence job creation and economic development.
