All set for Ibadan Music Festival

MBI Entertainment, an outfit with focus on talent management, events and lifestyle is putting finishing touches to the third edition of Ibadan Music Festival popularly known as IBMF.

Speaking about the music festival, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MBI Entertainment, Emmanuel Omotunde said the IBMF was created to support music artistes in Ibadan. He added that the music fest is a highly anticipated event every May of the year and has gained its reputation across the country and in the diaspora.

“The first edition was held on May 28, 2022, and had over 1500 vibrant youths in Ibadan in attendance. The second edition which was held on May 19, 2023 had over 3000 attendees. For the 2024 edition, we decided as a team to max out a new definition of experience through activities and brands,” he said.

According to him, previous editions of the music fest have seen indigenous artistes and key stakeholders in the entertainment industry being featured. He stated that for this year’s edition, the organising team is poised to take the experience higher with introductions of notable guest performances.

Talking about his goal, Omotunde said, “it is to create a platform through Ibadan Music Festival where creatives showcase their crafts and thrive; also to attract more investors to invest in the creative industry of Ibadan.” I’m creating a platform for creatives to showcase their craft through the Ibadan Music Festival.”

Commenting on the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in the entertainment industry, the entertainment chief said, “creatives collaboration is essential for many reasons, especially as it brings unique viewpoints and ideas to the table, enriching the creative process, the sharing of skills, expertise, and experiences, leading to mutual growth and learning, which efforts often result in innovative and out-of-the-box solutions.

“I collaborate with others to explore new interests and share ideas. Creatives and stakeholders need to collaborate more to achieve common goals,” he stated.
